Canon LV-8310 Projector Overview

The Canon LV-8310 is portable widescreen WXGA (1280×800) LCD projector that should work well in a classroom, particularly where a combination of good brightness and accurate color is desired.  The LV-8310 has a number of input options, which thankfully include a digital input (DVI).  While we’d prefer an HDMI input, the DVI input at least allows for that connection via an HDMI-to-DVI cable.
As is usually the case with Canon projectors, the LV-8310 displays very good color depth, even on brighter settings, as well as sharp definition of text, charts and other presentations requiring a detailed picture.  It offers wired network control and monitoring via Canon’s own monitoring software.  There is also the ability to adjust the projector’s color balance to display properly on no less than nine different wall or display board colors.  So, if you don’t have a screen handy and need to project on a light green wall, for example, just go to the Screen Color Correction menu and select “Light Green”.

The LV-8310 is meant to be portable (7.28 lbs.) and that ability is enhanced by the use of a carrying handle that is an extension of the case.  The LV-8310 also features near instant on and off operation, making it quick to set up when turned on and ready to go after shutdown. Combined with the low weight and handle, this makes the LV-8310 easy to move from one location to another.   The Canon LV-8310 also comes with a travel bag that holds the projector, remote and any accessory cables for easy transport.
