The Christie LHD878-DS is a 7,800 ANSI lumen business class laser projector with Full HD resolution that can accept a full range of 4K content. It is Christie’s latest addition to its DS-Series of mid-brightness installation/business projectors. It is designed for classrooms, museums, and mid-sized auditoriums.
Christie currently offers a total of three laser projector chassis in its DS-Series lineup. The other models include the 7,000 lumen LWU755 ($10,499 SRP) and 8,000 lumens LWU900 ($12,399). Unlike the other two models in the DS Series, which are WUXGA projectors, the LHD878 is the sole Full HD (1920 x 1080) unit. The LHD878’s laser light engine is rated for up to 50,000 hours in 50% light mode
The lens is sold separately but there are seven lenses to choose from including a UST version.
We wish to thank Epson America for sponsoring this year’s Best Classroom Projectors Report.
With the ability to deliver up to 8,000 lumens, combined with the reliability and longevity of a laser light engine, the Christie LHD878U projector could be the perfect solution for someone looking for a mid-brightness business class projector. The LHD878 is part of Christie’s DS-Series projector lineup which are designed to deliver high performance without blowing the budget. The LHD878’s native resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080) but the projector accepts 4K@60P content. The laser light engine can deliver up 50,000 hours in low power mode. As with all 3LCD projectors, the Christie LHD878 produces as many color lumens as it does white lumens, which ensures a bright, vibrant image when utilized in lecture halls, museums, auditoriums and houses of worship. While the LHD878 does not have a lens in the box, it is compatible with seven powered Christie lenses. Its wide variety of inputs along with features like omnidirectional mounting, Edge Blending, and Projector Warping ensure maximum flexibility.
