No surprises here when it comes to the Home Cinema 5030 UB projector’s warranty.  Both the HC5030 UB and the 5030 UBe come with Epson’s two year parts and labor warranty.  In this price range that’s about average in length. There are a couple of one year warranties out there in the HC5030 UB’s price range, while of this Epson’s closest competitors, only the well more expensive Sony VPL-HW55ES offers a three year warranty.

Both Epson Home Cinema UB projectors also come with a replacement program for both years of the warranty. (The Pro Cinema 6030 UB comes with three/three, as does the other new projector, the Pro Cinema 4030, which costs less than the Home Cinema 5030UB.)

I’m a fan of Epson’s combination of support and warranty.   Thanks to the replacement program, Epson is very proactive.   If you have a warranty problem you call them, get right to a tech, and in almost all cases, Epson ships out your replacement, from their fleet, within 24 hours.  Epson pays all freight, including the cost of returning your original projector.  That’s great, few will be down for more than two business days.

That sure beats getting a return authorization from most companies, shipping in your projector (hope you saved your box), and waiting what can be weeks for repair.

Depending on the time of day you call, your replacement projector might actually arrive the next business day, or the following. You can’t beat that.

As I have said many times before, when I owned Presenting Solutions and was a large online dealer, we always considered Epson’s support to be excellent. Best I can tell, it still is.
