Epson Powerlite VS350W WXGA LCD Multimedia Projector Review

Epson VS350W Projector Overview

The Epson Powerlite VS350W is a compact, no-frills, widescreen WXGA (1280 X 800) LCD projector that is designed to give the most brightness for the buck, without compromising in color accuracy. Forgoing the usual Epson network and PC-free presentation capabilities, the VS350W has the bare minimum of inputs (no digital input). The VS350W can be connected to a computer or video source via a standard VGA cable, composite and S-video. It also allows for video and audio transfer from a computer via USB, as well as the use of the remote as a wireless mouse. The VS350W has a rated output of 3700 lumens and a 1.6X zoom lens, as well as digital zooming. A built-in 5 watt speaker provides adequate sound for most uses.

The VS350W has height-adjustable rear feet in addition to the usual center front height adjustment, thus enabling easy set up. It also features Epson’s Quick Corner keystone adjustment, which allows adjustments to each of the four corners of the displayed image. For those who don’t need a widescreen image and want even more lumens, the Epson Powerlite VS410 is available for $50 less than the VS350W. The VS410 is essentially the same as the VS350W, but is rated at 4000 lumens instead of 2700 and is XGA (1024 X 768) resolution. The compact size and light weight (7.25 lbs.) of either the VS350W or VS410 makes it easy to transport them between class or conference rooms.
