Optoma MovieTime DV10 – Pros, Cons

Pros

  • Great image quality for an entry level projector
  • True 16:9 Aspect ratio (unlike HP’s all-in-one)
  • Unique “all-in-one” portability
  • Decent built in sound from 2 5 watt speakers
  • Optional small subwoofer
  • DVD player built in
  • A easy to learn remote
  • Friendly easy to understand menus
  • Easy to hook up to your cable or satellite box
  • Already have a big stereo or surround sound system? A single cable (digital optical) will send the DVD’s sound to your big system
  • Compatible with just about all the video and audio formats

Cons

  • Image bows slightly in the top center
  • Lens shift is extreme – putting the projector either on the floor or just off the floor, for normal viewing height (this also causes the bowing mentioned above).
  • Zoom adjust defocuses lens (minor)
  • Sound could be better – but then it wouldn’t be a small portable solution
  • Remote not backlit

Typical

  • Warranty
