Ricoh has developed a very interesting ultra-short-throw projector when it introduced the PJ WX4130N. Mirrored projection is nothing new, but Ricoh created a fairly compact unit that could be used almost anywhere. In fact, one might say it is more capable than your standard projector since it does not need distance to create a large image. Just 9.6 inches from the wall and you have an 80″ diagonal image.
It is fairly bright and quite competitive with units that are of equal size. It produces 2500 lumens of light output. The projector features a resolution of 1280×800 and a max resolution of 1600×1200.
The PJ WX4130N is a single chip DLP projector and has a lamp life of about 3000 hours when projecting in Standard Mode and a lamp life of about 4000 hours when in Economy Mode.
It accepts all the standard inputs you might expect a projector to accept, but HDMI as well. Particularly interesting about this projector is that has both built-in wireless LAN connectivity, and wired LAN connectivity.
Networking Technology This projector features both wired LAN and build-in wireless LAN technology.Wired connectivity supports speeds 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet and has the obvious RJ-45 input. The PJ WX4310 does not feature either of these technologies.
USB Connectivity Want to put your slide presentation on a USB thumb drive? The PJ WX4310N has a USB 2.0 High-Speed Type A input. This input is not included in the PJ WX4310 version.
Same Image to Multiple Projectors Present and display the same image at once to multiple projectors(up to four projectors) for all participants to see (PJ WX4130N only).
PJLink Compatibility This feature lets users manage settings, or turn the power on or off remotely. You can control other brands of network projectors from your networked computer. This only works with the PJ WX4310N.
